Pigmentation day cream with SPF 30 Melanin is a natural pigment that gives colour to skin. Exposure to sunlight, hormonal influences and ageing can cause an increase in melanin production and trigger hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation appears as dark patches and age spots (also known as sun spots) that make skin look uneven. Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 contains Thiamidol, an effective and patented ingredient that acts at the root cause of hyperpigmentation by reducing melanin production. It is clinically and dermatologically proven to reduce dark spots and prevent their re-appearance. First results are visible after two weeks and improve continuously with regular use. With UVA and UVB filters (SPF 30) the moisturising day cream offers effective protection from the sun and reduces the chances of skin developing sun-induced pigment spots. Licochalcone A

Licochalcone A is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant active that is derived from the roots of the Chinese licorice plant Glycyrrhiza inflata. Licochalcone A protects cells from oxidative stress mediated by UV and blue light (HEVIS).

Licochalcone A is able to activate anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and detoxifying enzymes. These enzymes protect the skin cells from damage induced by oxidative stress, like lipid peroxidation and DNA as wells as protein damage. Licochalcone A is able to soothe irritated skin and redness.

Is Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 suitable for skin with age spots?

Yes. Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 can be used to reduce many of the different types of hyperpigmentation which include age spots (also known as sun spots). And, with SPF 30, it also protects skin from the sun helping to reduce further sun-induced pigmentation issues. For optimal results we recommend that you use it in combination with other products in the Eucerin Anti-Pigment range.

Why does Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 contain UVA and UVB protection?

Even on cloudy days the sun’s rays can cause hyperpigmentation, photoaging (the word used to describe premature skin ageing caused by the sun) and DNA damage. Find out more in how sun affects skin. Our day cream contains both UVA and UVB filters to give skin the daily protection it needs.

    I have been using the hyperpigmentation products since August - serum, creams day and night, sun block and corrector but no improvements in my melasma.

    It actually works.
    I have been using the Anti-pigment creams day and night for just over a year. The brown marks on my cheeks that I have been covering up for about 10 years - have gone! Yes gone!
