Clinical Formula

Panthenol or Dexpanthenol

Panthenol and Dexpanthenol are two names commonly used for the same ingredient.  Panthenol participates in numerous metabolic processes (e.g. energy production, synthesis of fatty acids) and helps to improve hydration in the outermost layers of the skin. Panthenol converts into Panthotenic Acid (a B-Complex Vitamin) in the skin and enhances skin regeneration and repair. When applied regularly, it has been proven to considerably improve symptoms of skin irritation such as dryness, roughness, scaling and redness. It is also an effective moisturizer. Very well absorbed by the skin, it regenerates, stimulates epithelialisation and wound healing. It alleviates irritation and inflammation.

Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid is a skin’s own substance, being an essential component of the NMF (= natural moisturizing factor) as well as a AHA (=Alpha-hydroxy acid).

Lactic Acid  acts in the stratum corneum with a two-fold effect:

  • moisturizing: it reduces skin scaling and balances the skin’s pH value to fight dry skin symptoms
  • comedolytic: it inhibits the formation of comedones by helping the skin to shed and exfoliate and thus the pores from becoming clogged.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic Acid is formed by skin cells and is part of the connective tissue of the skin. One of its key functions is to retain moisture, and it has the ability to bind in between 1,000 and 10,000 times its own weight in water (i.e. one gram binds between one and ten liters). As we age, the skin's natural ability to produce Hyaluronic Acid depletes and wrinkles start to form and deepen.

FAQ

I’m looking for an Anti-Pigment product for my whole body. Is this product right for me?

Eucerin Anti-Pigment Targeted Areas Body Cream is for targeting dark spots, small areas of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and thickened skin on friction areas (knees, elbows).

Can I use Eucerin Anti-Pigment Targeted Areas Body Cream instead of a moisturiser?

Eucerin Anti-Pigment Targeted Areas Body Cream contains concentrated Hyaluronic Acid which improves skin moisturisation. It is effective when used individually, as part of your current skincare routine, or alongside other products in the Eucerin Anti-Pigment range.

Eucerin Anti-Pigment Targeted Areas Body Cream does not protect skin from the sun. As the sun’s rays are a key contributor to hyperpigmentation it’s important to wear an appropriate sun protection product, even on cloudy days. We recommend that, if you apply the Serum in the morning, you follow it with Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 to help fade existing acne marks and protect skin from the sun, thereby reducing further sun-induced pigmentation issues. For intense sun exposure choose a higher protection factor from the Eucerin Sun Protection range.

    Hydrated and happy
Lovely absorbant moisturiser, leaving skin hydrated. Nice subtle scent. There is no noticeable difference in skin pigmintation but overall a lovely scented moisturiser, leaving dry skin feeling soft and smooth.

Nice moisturiser but did not aid pigment
This moisturiser leaves your skin feeling hydrated and nourished and has a nice light scent, however it did not aid with the mild pigmentation I have on my skin.

    Very rich
The moisturiser absorbs very well and has a lightweight texture. The scent is mild and subtle. My skin felt very hydrated. Did not see much difference when it comes to pigmentation though…
